Rotterdam Marathon: No legs, no problem!

Last weekend, the Rotterdam Marathon was celebrated. The world famous event in Rotterdam was held for the thirtieth time.

This year’s winner of the Rotterdam Marathon is Patrick Makau is the winner of the Fortis marathon in Rotterdam! The 25 years old Kenyan ran the 42 km official marathon distance in 2 hours, 4 minutes and 48 seconds!

Leg amputee Paralympics’ athlete Richard Whitehead (33) has finished the Marathon of Rotterdam without any problem. Being world champion on both half and Olympic distance, the athlete finished the Rotterdam marathon in 2 hours 45 minutes and 47 seconds , improving his personal best of 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Fortis Rotterdam Marathon 2010

On the 11th of April the Fortis Rotterdam Marathon starts again. This will be the 30th edition of one of the most well know Marathons of the world. The Fortis Marathon Rotterdam is the biggest one-day event in the Netherlands.

Easter review: Skiing in Andorra

To go skiing in Andorra means that you will be pretty sure that you will have enough snow. The high mountains of the "Principat" of Andorra basically guarantee the skiers of snow.

We went to the area of Arinsal and La Massana this time to have an inside look during Easter. Staying in one of the La Massana Apartments (Giberga) gives you the freedom of hopping (well.. skiing actually) between Arinsal's ski area and La Massana's ski area, both being Vallnord.

Vallnord is an interesting ski area both for beginners and more advanced skiers. Due to the high temperatures during this year's Easter break it was not so very busy at the slopes nor in the villages. If you still want to go to ski in Andorra, be quick; the season ends in a week!

Feyenoord - Ajax

The cup final between the Dutch teams Feyenoord and Ajax will possibly be divided into two matches. One match in Rotterdam and one in Amsterdam.
The possibility for a double final match is only a option if there is not a garantee of enough safety during the match in the Rotterdam Kuip and if the supporters of Ajax are not allowed to come.
The match in Rotterdam will take place at the 25th of April.

IAAF World Junior Athletics Championships

The 14th IAAF World Junior Athletics Championships in 2012 will be held in Barcelona! The International Association of Athletics Federations Council has decided that this Monday.

The World Junior Athletics Championships is for athletes under the ages of 20 and born on or alter 1993. More than 2000 athlets will take part on this Championship. The World Junior Athletics Championships have been held since 1986, the firts time was in Athens.

Today, the organization of the North Sea Jazz Festival published some artists of the North Sea Jazz Festival! The artist who will be there anyway are; Earth Wind and Fire, Diana Krall, Corinne Bailey Rae, Joss Stone, Sonny Rollins and Norah Jones!

Since Tuesday you can buy tickets for the North Sea Jazz Festival. The total program will be published on Wednesday the 28th of April.

This year the North Sea Jazz Festival will be on the 9th, 10th, 11th of July at Ahoy Rotterdam.

On Sunday the 14th of February was the final of the ABN AMRO Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam. It was a very exciting match between the Swedish Robin Soderling and the Russian Mikhail Youzhny.
